Joanne Godin, President of Words That Matter Inc.,
literally helped write the book on plain
language she worked with the National
Literacy Secretariat to produce the guide, Plain
Language: Clear and Simple, which is used as a
writing guide by government, consultants and industry
across Canada. She was a member of the federal
government Advisory Committee on the Workforce of the
Future, and was the author of the report Valuing
Our People. She co-edited Two Steps Forward:
Human Resource Management in a High Tech World,
and has written about economics, business,
technological change, public administration, the
environment, disability issues, and a vast range of
social and socio-economic subjects. She believes that
people like to read stories especially about
other people and has created a unique
writing style for the company that puts people and
their stories first, in everything from handbooks and
guides to annual reports and magazines.
